Courtney Reads A Lot: In My Mailbox (16)

In My Mailbox is hosted over at The Story Siren. In My Mailbox gives bloggers a chance to showcase the books they've received, bought, borrowed, etc over the past week. I'm very happy with the books I got this week.

Bought:

-Feed by M.T. Anderson - I've been meaning to read this book for years, ever since I saw it sitting on my AP English teacher's desk in high school. I picked it up when he was out of the room, and I was intrigued by the synopsis. That teacher had really high standards when it came to books so I knew I had to read it, especially with such a wild premise.

-Black Heart by Holly Black - Finally, the paperback is out and I have the complete Curse Workers series sitting on my bookshelf! Cannot wait to finish this beloved series.

Borrowed:

-Charmed Thirds by Megan McCafferty - I look forward to reading the third installment of the Jessica Darling series! Jessica Darling is living the college life now!

-The Hollow Kingdom by Clare B. Dunkle - Once I discovered The Hollow Kingdom is a "Beauty and the Beast" retelling, I knew I had to read it!

Rating System

***** 5 stars - This book was fantastic! I can't think of a single complaint, and I would recommend it to anyone, even random passersby.

**** 4 stars - I loved this book! I might have a couple of complaints, but it was still well worth my time.

*** 3 stars - I liked it, but I didn't love it. It's lacking that certain oomph I'm looking for.

** 2 stars - It was an ok read, but nothing to write home about. This book may have had some potential, but there were many issues keeping me from truly enjoying it.

*1 star - This book was not my cup of tea at all. It's a wonder I even finished it. I think we need to go our separate ways.

Ooh, I just LOVED both Black Heart and The Hollow Kingdom, so I can't WAIT to see what you think! :) Also, I picked up Charmed Thirds this week myself! So. Excited! :D

You know I haven't read any of the Jessica Darling books but I keep seeing that name around, I think I may need to look into them ha :) Enjoy your books!

Great post. I have the first 3 books in the Jessica Darling series, I'm waiting till I get all of them to start reading them. I'm a new follower & I'm really liking your posts.
