Showcase Sunday is hosted over at Books, Biscuits and Tea. Showcase Sunday is a feature where book bloggers can show all of the books and bookish goodies they bought, received, borrowed, etc recently. This post features books from my last few weeks, and I'd like to think I kept my book buying addiction under control. I snatched up the occasional Kindle book deal, but I avoided bookstores, and my wallet has thanked me.
-The Glass Casket by McCormick Templeman
Borrowed:
-The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz
-Number the Stars by Lois Lowry
-Ask Again Later by Liz Czukas
-Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira
As you can see, Kindle books for $1.99 are my weakness. But, hey, that's a deal I cannot resist. I really enjoyed The Immortal Rules, so I just had to buy it for future rereads, and then I also bought the sequel when they were both on sale. I also loved Grave Mercy, so I was excited to find Dark Triumph at a low price. As for the other two, I've been meaning to read them, and now I finally have them on my Ipad!
This past week, I was approved for Tabula Rasa, which is exciting! Not only is it a debut, meaning it can count towards my Debut Author Challenge, but it is also described in the Goodreads synopsis as "The Bourne Identity meets Divergent," so I'm certainly intrigued.
I just finished The Glass Casket, and it is a new favorite! My review should be up soon. I'm reading The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao now, and I can understand why it received such high praise.
So what books did you guys buy and/or receive this week? Have you read any of these?

-Another Little Piece by Kate Karys Quinn

Showcase Sunday is hosted over at Books, Biscuits and Tea. Every Sunday, book bloggers can post about the books, ebooks and book swag they received over the past week. This is my first Showcase Sunday in a longggggg time, but I'm only showing the books I've gotten over the past week. I promise! Well, okay, maybe there are a few books in this post that I acquired over the past two weeks, but it hasn't been that long. I kinda went through some book blogging and book buying withdrawal over these past few months, so I went crazy recently. No big deal.
Bought (Kindle):
Night of Cake & Puppets (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #2.5) by Laini Taylor - This novella may be short and sweet, but I absolutely adored both Zuzana and Mik. It was wonderful being able to witness their first date! (my review)
The Bitter Kingdom (Fire and Thorns #3) by Rae Carson - I cannot wait to read the finale to Carson's Fire and Thorns series. I have read glowing review after glowing review, and I'm 99.9% sure I'll love it!
Sea of Shadows (Age of Legends #1) by Kelley Armstrong - This is yet another series I'm starting while I have yet to finish a whole bunch of other series, but I couldn't resist. The gorgeous cover drew me in!
Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy #1) by Pierce Brown - I actually haven't heard much about this book yet, but only because I wasn't reading book reviews until recently. But when my friend told me it was only $1.99 for the Kindle, and that it had been receiving some amazing reviews, I snatched it up right away.
Bought:
Charm & Strange by Stephanie Kuehn - I've heard so many good things about this book, but book bloggers won't reveal anything about the synopsis for fear of spoiling the plot. The suspense only intrigues me more, and I need to read this soon!
Paper Towns by John Green - I've read two of Green's books now, and I'm curious to see how I'll like Paper Towns.
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton - I wanted to read it because 1) it's a standalone, 2) people have been raving about it in their reviews and 3) the beautiful cover.
Midwinterblood by Marcus Sedgwick - I'm anxious to read this year's Printz Award winner!
Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #3) by Laini Taylor - I am reading this book now, and so far so good. It's thicker than I expected, but I'm totally cool with that. I don't want this series to end!
Gifted:
Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened by Allie Brosh - This book was hysterically funny, just as I expected it would be after following her blog for years. (my review)
Borrowed:
Fourth Comings (Jessica Darling #4) and Perfect Fifths (Jessica Darling #5) by Megan McCafferty - I can't wait to see where Jessica Darling's life takes me next! I'm also somewhat apprehensive since I've read book reviews, and I've heard the series goes downhill. But at least I'll finally finish this series with no more procrastination!
So what books did you guys receive this week? Or have you read any of these? I'd love to hear what you thought about them!

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits, and Tea. Showcase Sunday is a weekly feature where book bloggers highlight the books and book swag they received, borrowed, etc over the past week.
Bought:
-Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo - I'm just about to start this one and I am SO EXCITED! I absolutely loved Shadow and Bone, and I cannot wait to continue this series!
Borrowed:
-Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley - I've heard you can't go wrong with books by an Aussie YA author, and I'd believe it after reading some of Melina Marchetta's work. So many people rave about Graffiti Moon, and I'm anxious to read it!
-Dark Triumph by R.L. LaFevers - I love that Dark Triumph's protagonist is Sybella! I loved her in Grave Mercy, and I'm sure this book will be action-packed and filled with assassins doing kick-ass stuff as they always do!
Bought (Kindle):
I also snatched up some Kindle books that were on sale! How could I resist 1.99 and 2.99 deals?!
-Sanctum by Sarah Fine - I had borrowed this from the library at one point, but it had started off a little slow for me, and I ran out of renewals before I finished it. I'll have to give it another try because it seems like a really popular book.
-The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch by Joseph Delaney - I've been eyeing up this book for awhile, and it looks like my type of fantasy read - all sorts of spooky!
-Something Like Normal by Trish Doller - I've been wanting to read this book for some time so the discounted price was all I needed!
So what books did everyone else receive this week? Let me know and leave a link in the comments below!

I thought I'd try out Showcase Sunday this week for the first time ever. Showcase Sunday is hosted over at Books, Biscuits, and Tea. Showcase Sunday is a weekly feature where book bloggers feature the books and book swag they've received, bought, borrowed, etc over the past week.
May has been an AMAZING month for new releases! I pre-ordered 4 books this month, something that has never happened before. And two of them came this week!
Bought:
In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters - I am really anxious to read this since I am a huge fan of the paranormal and just anything creepy!
The End Games by T. Michael Martin - I have been waiting for this book for far too long, and I'm really hoping it doesn't disappoint.
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey - After reading Yancey's The Monstrumologist and The Curse of the Wendigo, I don't think it's possible for Yancey to write a horrible book or even an alright book. I cannot wait to read this one!
Borrowed:
Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler - Rather Be Reading recommended this book and I'm looking forward to reading my first Sarah Ockler book!
What did everyone else get this week?
