10. “I sometimes have a queer feeling with regard to you—especially when you are near me, as now: it is as if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly and inextricably knotted to a similar string situated in the corresponding quarter of your little frame. And if that boisterous Channel, and two hundred miles or so of land come broad between us, I am afraid that cord of communion will be snapt; and then I’ve a nervous notion I should take to bleeding inwardly.”
― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

  7. Awwww, these quotes (especially the romantic ones) gave me all sorts of warm fuzzies! Oh SWOON, I do sort of wish people still talked like the folk in 19th century classics because it's so beautiful and melodic. Thank you so much for sharing these, Courtney!! GREAT topic idea.

  9. I'm not a big fan of The Great Gatsby but that is an awesome quote! And I really like Mary Oliver's as well. A favorite quote of mine is Captain Wentworth's letter in Persuasion by Jane Austen. *sigh* :D
